Workshop 44 was created with the culmination of stars aligning and years of preparation. Dana, Geovani, and Robert met in 2009 while taking theatrical courses at Gavilan College. The three instantly clicked and began a journey of working together on productions. Over the past seven years, the three of them have collaborated on over 30 productions and theatrical events all over Northern California.

After self producing for the past seven years and helping create theater companies all over the state, the three decided it was time start a nonprofit geared to their vision of the theatrical world. An organization that would focus more on theatre as an art form and propel theatre into the new century. Gaining a growing group of returning artists and the success of Robert’s new adaptation of Romeo and Juliet in February 2019, made it clear that the time was right to incorporate.

With the passion for the theatre and the need to continue sharing the art form, Workshop 44 was established. With the unique opportunity of art first and self propelled education through practical application, Workshop 44 is sure to be at the forefront of the local theatrical community.
